Ascend RMS

New

  • You can update the order status properly from the eCommerce Sales screen.
  • Swiss QR Code section has been added to the Purchase On Account Large Receipts (Invoices). This is not to be confused with Payment On Account Statements, or any other receipt. This will be based on a Locale Policy and the IBAN number being added to the table manually (there is NO dedicated Ascend RMS field for this).

Inventory Adjustment Type

  • A restriction was removed which was previously blocking a user from assigning a QuickBooks Account to an active "duplicate" Inventory Adjustment Type (IAT) matching an existing 'Hidden' IAT. Moving forward, users will be able to map and save a QuickBooks Accounts to any Active (Unhidden) IAT even if there is an existing unmapped duplicate IAT ‘Hidden’ with an identical name.
  • A change was made to eliminate users from being able to create new duplicate IATs. If a new IAT is created using an identical name to that of an existing ‘Hidden’ IAT, Ascend will activate the existing ‘Hidden’ IAT, instead of creating duplicate IAT entries with the same name; this will happen automatically unbeknownst to the user. The activated IAT will still need to be mapped the same as if it were newly created as in current state.
  • IATs created by one location will automatically be set to ‘Hidden’ at all other locations within a dealership, by default. We understand that this will add an additional click to ‘Restore/Unhide’ when mapping newly created IATs across multistore locations, however, this change will mitigate a different problem causing IIF exports to fail as a result of unmapped ‘Hidden’ IATs. The only change to the process is the added click to ‘Restore/Unhide’ the IAT in question by either 1) Clicking ‘Add’ and keying in exactly the same IAT Type Name which will Unhide/Restore the existing one created by a different location, or the recommended way of 2) Clicking the 'Restore' button to unhide/active then ‘Editing’ to add the QuickBooks Account as was always the process.
  • A fix was implemented addressing a notification service issue related to IAT updates. This fix, while completely transparent to end users, allows us to reenable our IAT sharing across locations at the time our next client update is released (or for Early Access Users).

Fixed

  • When a special order is associated to a purchase order at the warehouse, the customer's name will now appear appropriately on the order screen for the associated purchase order.
  • Ascend RMS Service Center technician scheduling will no longer throw an error when navigating forward many weeks into the future.

Ascend HQ

New

  • The "Select All" Button will select all visible rows of products
  • When deleting or splitting a special order fulfillment in the Special Orders Management Tool, the grid will now only reload the affected row, instead of the whole grid, improving loading times.

Fixed

  • Warehouse fulfillment options will now appear in the dropdown as soon as a Warehouse is selected in the Report options.
  • Fulfillments in the Special Orders Management Tool (SOMT) dropdown will appear appropriately based off of the Fulfillment priority selected in Report Options. Fulfillments with no Estimated Arrival date will no longer be considered "faster" than fulfillments with an Estimated Arrival date.
  • HQ Reorder Analysis will no longer error when analyzing for dealers with a large number of locations.
  • In HQ Reorder Analysis Min/Max values will now be adjusted when a Safety Stock level is added.

Ascend RMS

New

Automatic Updates

  • We patched a behavior issue where a condition of perpetually skipping the new version auto update window could result from scheduling updates to occur at a time when computers are routinely turned off (generally overnight). If a HotFix installation time-of-day window is missed, the automatic update will occur at the soonest available time, likely upon bootup. If a non-HotFix feature release misses the configured day(s)/time window for two consecutive weeks, Ascend will force the update after the two week buffer at day 15.
  • Client machines will be updated automatically when the server is updated so that the user will no longer need to manually update each individual client machine. The only requirement is that the file naming convention and directory matches between where it is stored on the server machine and the clients.
  • Ascend will be taking a more active forced update approach. Retailers will have the ability to set the Time of Day and number of days from the Ascend Product Update release date from 0 (day of release) to 15 days from the date of the release.

Other

  • SKU and UPC labels can now be printed without a price.
  • SmartEtailing sales are correctly updated in both the case of direct fulfillment and without direct fulfillment.

  • The SO Management Tool user will be able to see and select a fulfillment option from a drop-down list that includes the fulfillment availability (such as assigning an order or transfer) for the special order request.
  • The SO Management Tool user will now have the ability to select a warehouse location, that will then be an additional fulfillment option available to fulfill a special order. WARNING: Once you select a warehouse location, you should never change this location or it may cause errors. If you experience issues, please contact support.
  • The SO Management Tool user will be able to click submit and all of their fulfillment updates included in their current session will be pushed and updated in Ascend RMS.
  • When the SO Management Tool user hits the submit button, it will submit all special order lines that were changed in the current session. The field will also include the estimated arrival type to let the user know what the date is based off of. Note: This calculation will not appear for non-Trek supplier purchase orders.
  • The SO Management Tool user will now see a session progress chart that shows each session's progress for updating the client with the information that was submitted.
  • What the user can see in the Special Order Management Tool, will now be based off whether the user has the Vendor Order user permission or not. If they have the permission, they will have full access to the tool and can update the fulfillment option for a special order. If they do not, they will have "read only" access of the tool.
  • The SO Management Tool user will no longer have the ability to add the shipped and promise date columns via the column chooser. Instead they will see one column for the estimated arrival date.
  • When selecting a Warehouse in the report options for the special order management tool, the SO Management Tool user will receive a warning message letting them know that they will not be able to change their Warehouse, once it has been selected. Once they select a Warehouse, the dropdown will become inactive.

  • When a fulfillment option is being selected and has not fully saved to the session.

  • When using the SOMT, the user will now see a yellow outline on the fulfillment dropdown box when they have changed a fulfillment and have not submitted the session yet.
  • When selecting a Warehouse in the report options for the special order management tool, the SO Management Tool user will receive a warning message letting them know that they will not be able to change their Warehouse, once it has been selected. Once they select a Warehouse, the dropdown will become inactive.
  • When using the SOMT, users will see their selected lines turn a dark blue, and see lines that they hover over in a light blue to help keep track of the lines that they are reviewing.
  • All SOMT HQ text will now appear in the appropriate languages.
  • Translations for most locales will appropriately be displayed in Ascend HQ for the Special Orders Management Tool.

New Central Product Catalog!
  • The release of the Cloud Catalog is the giant step in the direction simplifying vendor product imports and increasing database performance.
  • The Cloud catalog will be a long-term replacement for many vendor product imports. It allows you to download only the products you need and helps your sales team by having fewer products to manually filter through when helping a customer.
  • You can find the Cloud Catalog when searching for a product in a purchase order, a sale, or from Database Explorer in the Products section.
  • Sherpa Tip: A user will need to set up vendor association in the new Products section of Ascend HQ . Initially the catalog only works with Trek Bicycle Corporation products. In the future this will expand to many other vendors.
  • Cloud Catalog Form has filters added to each field.
  • The Add and Add & Order buttons have been added to the PO Screen, for the Cloud Catalog.
  • Cloud Catalog Available as part of DB Explorer. The Cloud Catalog Form is the same as in PO Screen, except that from here you can add the cloud products to only your Local DB.
  • Cloud Catalog Form will be accessible from Sales Screen, Adding Customer Friendly Messages confirming the adding of products to PO or to their Local database.
Klarna
  • The dropdown selection for the eCommerce Payment Type now has Klarna and WePay as an option.
Locally
  • Users will be able to see the eCommerce tile, Options > eCommerce, and View > eCommerce Sales.
  • When User enters the Product ID workflow, the following changes have been made: Remote Lookup button no longer appears on Select Product form, data is pre-filled when creating a new Product, User is warned if selected Product does not match web sale item UPC/SKU/MPN, default value for Select Product search is web sale item UPC/MPN/SKU.
New Employee ID Field
  • An Employee ID is auto-generated when creating a new user. Sherpa Tip - the auto-generated ID can be overwritten if you have a specific ID you would like the employee to use.
Additional Changes
  • We allow up to Max of 15 products to be selected to Add to Order or Local DB, and we can see the products in results which are existing in Local DB but are not selectable and greyed out and that be toggled to be hidden or shown, and Date Created Field is added to the Results Table.
  • Local inventory levels will display by default in purchase order window regardless of state of Load History button.
  • Within the Transfers screen, the location information now sorts alphabetically.

Fixed

Locally
  • Users will see proper characters on Locally sales and receipts.
  • Changing eCommerce setting in Options saves as expected.
  • If the eCommerce sale customer country code is missing, then matching to a local customer will proceed without an error.
