Managing Trek backorders

Trek vendor ordering is currently facing potential delays due to excessive and unrealistic order placements. Help improve your customer experience with accurate ETAs by reviewing your Trek backorders.

Use this article to help clear out products from vendor product orders. For more information on the issue, visit the Trek B2B article, Trek’s third-quarter supply chain update. This link works best if you’re first logged into the B2B site.

To get started, reach out to your Trek representative (if they haven’t contacted you yet). Trek has created a new backorder spreadsheet that your rep should review with you to help create a plan going forward.

Once your plan is set, you might need to adjust or remove some MY22 backorders in Ascend (these are orders scheduled to ship between now and the end of June 2022).

To make the process easier we recommend using the sorting features in Ascend and Excel to easily find Orders that need to be updated.

1.    Open your (completed) backorder spreadsheet in Excel and use the Filter to sort by Order Number.

2.    Navigate to Database Explorer > Orders in Ascend.

       a.    Update the Date Range to start at 4/1/2020 and finish with today’s date. This may take a few moments to load!

       b.    Use the Filter in the Status column to only select Submitted statuses (uncheck Unsubmitted and Received).

       c.    Use the Filter in the Vendor column to narrow your results to just Trek orders.

       d.    Sort by Order Number there as well.

From here, you can more easily find and delete or update the corresponding Orders in Ascend.
